No Half Measures
Yesterday, as soon as I found out that there was another Farmers' Market in town I picked up the phone and called Mr Whitehead to make sure he could reserve a keg for me.
Mr Whitehead is, of course, the man behind Mr Whitehead's Cider and the Heart of Hampshire cider in particular. Heart of Hampshire is 6% ABV, no added sugar and really creeps up on you.
"I liked it so much I bought a whole barrel" - and here it is, sitting outside my kitchen, staying cool in the December air. I will try my best not to drink all 36 pints before Christmas :)

Hey Rebekah, nice of you to pop over :) The barrel is great value and it's just like having a bar in the back garden - hey, that's an idea; I could have a whole row of kegs in the garage... my very own mini beer festival LOL
When you get your hands on your next sound system you'll have to promise to be a little kinder to it ;)

LOL @ Kalina - Ouch, hangover central. It's good stuff but it gets you the next morning. And you wonder why I didn't drink for 4 days...

well you might have heard of fargo but if you have seen or heard of the movie Fargo it is nothing like it is portrayed...the film was filmed in Duluth....so i suggest not seeing the movie...anyway in fargo we do a lot of things nothing too interesting...it snows during winter and summer is hot(for us) so yeah if you want to know anything else just ask! later!

Nice one Lever! I'm not a cider drinker normally, specially not in pubs but those local cidermakers know a thing or two. Spent a memorable afternon in Perrys Cider farm a while ago and an unmemorable journey home, cos I slept the whole way! Hmm I don't think you should have posted that, now I'm toying with the idea of a polypin of ale for Xmas!.. CHEERS

I had some "lumpy" cider a in a pub opposite Exeter station and it was awful. It gives me heartburn. I have just bought a bottle of Ledaig single malt whisky (stilled on the Isle of Mull) as a change from Jamesons.
Diverse blog. Big tick. You are added to a short but growing list of intersting blogs on my blog. http://www.xanga.com/mick_marsh

Hey Kelli_Nicole. I saw the film years ago, though unfortunately don't remember much of it apart from someone getting stuffed in a wood-chipper LOL. But I did a website for a client who wrote software for MicroSoft Great Plains... and MSGP had an office in Fargo :) Sounds like England with colder winter & hotter summer... nice :D
Hey Brom-man, go for it - can you imagine all the cans of fizzy rubbish left on the shelves whilst all the tastiest ale gets served from barrels at home or from a well-kept cellar at the local real pub? That would be most excellent... :)
Welcome, The Zeppelin :) That lumpy cider sounds like the "Garlic Beer" I had at the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival a few years back. Might have to look into a bottle of Scotland's finest for Xmas, top tip, thanks :D And thanks for the compliment, I shall be over for a visit shortly...
Ah, SE, this'll be No.11 then. Definately a record so far, and all good people too :D
