Blackline Ninja
"Don't know when the bullets gonna hit ya,
Flat lines are coming with the speed of a ninja"
Whilst tuning in to Altrok Radio the other day, amidst all the usual sound was one track that stood out a mile - "Blackline Ninja" by Weapons of Mass Belief.
This, the band's second single, produced by Damian Taylor (of Prodigy, Bjork, U.N.K.L.E. fame) is to be released through American Blood Recordings on 7th March 2005 and tells the tale of the shit that goes on in female prison, namely the use of heroin.
The Weapons have got all sorts of influences going on, but just listen and come to your own conclusions. Personally, this track is just fucking great, mixing all my favourite . Check out the Blackline Ninja mp3 excerpt or get the streams over at Peoplesound and then go give them a vote in the monthly poll over at Soundnation.
Blackline Ninja will be the one you know them by. Can't wait to see 'em live...
Black Line Ninja
Now the world rises satanicLyrics copyright © Georgia G and JG Weapons Of Mass Belief
Coked up, lipped up with panic
Blowing time jacking in the habit
Disaffected, shooting manic
Black lines up in the attic
Where my father never had it
Claustrophobic, messianic
Break the rage
Ready to die for my catharsis
Alone in the shuttle of grasses
Reel another hit for the hidden classes
On a code to control the masses
Licking up my limbs on the map Damascus
A test of less in order to grasp it
Flicking up a gun in my face to blast it
Paranoid me paranoid me
chorus
Don't know when the bullets gonna hit ya
Flat lines are coming with the speed of a ninja
Don't know when the bullets gonna bitch ya
Flat lines are coming at the speed of a ninja
Don't look back, All goes black
Fly too close to the sun and the heat will singe ya
Don't know when the dagger's gonna ditch ya
Don't want no black line ninja
-
Living dead on streets of plastic
Watching clocks perform the task it
Never ends - time's prismatic
Creating questions I didn't ask it
Underneath the skin's traumatic
Sleep the bruises from the past
It hits the shadow of the addict's
Generation now
Stakes high as the world flames faster
Anarchist in a staged disaster
Speed another wrap from the necromancer
On a roll to inject the answer
Locking up my lies on a sign to pass her
Shooting the crime in order to grasp her
Kicking up the dust in my face to blast her
Paralyse me paralyse me
Thanks to the Weapons for the words ;)

Seffy: Well you do now :) Check their stream.
Ah, BBC Radio 6 I'll give that a whirl. Thanks Seffy :D I just tapped radio6 in the FireFox address bar and got Radio 6 France first LOL
Kaiser Chefs huh? Coooking up some tasty sounds I suppose? OH, you said CHIEFS... shouldn't that be chieves as in Dwarf singular, Dwarves plural?
Know the name, but can't remember what I saw on Kerrang TV.
SEbasic: If they can only get to the Tumbledown, Farnborough, that would be bloody awesome! I can see the crowd go wild...
So, you like the Chefs too? LOL

Ok fine....no, I think it is actually kaiser cheifs. not cheives. cheifes. whatever you said it should be :) no actually it probably should be...
Oh whatever. Main thing is their song Oh my god is really cool. Go listen to the radio - it will probably be on.
Ps. There's Kerrang TV now??? I dont like Kerrang. Stupid heavy metal.

Yeah, I know. Some rockin' out is essential in life. It's just all those raucous bands like slipknot that get me down.

I'm not, by the way. I rule. But LostProphets...I dunno, is it cool to like them, Lever? or anyone who knows them?

Forget all this musical nonsense, just listen to Weapons Of Mass Belief...
Seffy: OK, I'm keeping ears open for Kaiser Wilhelm's Chefs... Ooh, first track on Radio 6 was "Hounds of Love" not their best, but ace band - The FutureHeads who are from Sunderland BTW. SE put me onto FutureHeads, cheers bud ;)
Yes Kerrang TV lives - I love it. Stupid Heavy Metal = Stupid Lever, likes Slipknot too ;) Mood music.
I like the Lost Prophets stuff I've heard and they're on my CD wishlist. Cool is liking whatever music rings your bell - it may not be major cool to like Rimsky-Korsakov, Holst Or Debussy but I don't care :p
SEbasic: That's the spirit, dude. Oh, I completely forgot - System of a Down - June the 5th, the Academy... Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Rebekah: Sabbath - nice, what were you listening to? I only got the 'judas' album on CD, "Born Again" - the one with Ian Gillan on lead vocals. Many people will argue it aint Sabbath without Ozzy, but you can't beat the sheer noise of tracks like "Trashed" and "Zero the Hero" - fucking wicked. The old stuff like "Iron Man" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" are on tapes in the attic...
Wait... I've just ordered 4 Sabbath CDs from Amamzon... How did that happen? *She made me do it* LOL ;)

Lostprophets are welsh. so are the manic street preachers. The manic street preachers have a song called ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayitsworldwouldfallapart which happens to be Seffy's favourite song.

England is grey... again... everyday is like Sunday, everyday is silent and grey... until all the hot (cool) chicks showed up, that is :D
Seffy: Those long lighters for gas cookers are a good (mini) alternative to those stun guns... hey imagine the fun with one o' those... imagine on the London Underground, rush hour, with the household equivalent of the electric cattle prod Mwahahaha
You is a bad influence grrl
Oh yeah, I'll go listen to MSP in a while... currently getting my ears around Mars Volta... first time, looking forward to this...

Bloody Norah Lever old chap, reading your blog takes a few minutes, reading the comments takes chuffin hours! :-) I'm not complaining, you get a nice bunch of people in here, glad to be aboard!
Good to know that there are a few of us metal heads around (sorry Sef ;-) ) and I have not forgotten that you asked me to blog about the time I met Lemmy, it will happen soon!

oh, you beat me to the Mars Volta, I still have only the 1 track :-)
Checked out WoMB (wow was that intended??) very catchy chorus there IF an old fogie is allowed to use words like catchy? lots of energy AND I can hear the Welsh! :-) cool.

Seffy: LOL that's cool - I mean where else could you discuss the fun of electric cattle prods? We could just ZAP people and pretend it was 'static'... LOL
Have to save "Here comes the Summer" by the Undertones until those sunny spring afternoons :D
Brom-man: LOL I know what ya mean and it always tends to veer off topic too... but if that's the way then that's cool; most definately a 'go with the flow' meander to all this... and yeah, everybody's always welcome :D
Looking forward to hearing about Lemmy, he's a dude. Did he ever do an autobiography?
Mars Volta - interseting band, only got halfway through the first LP before stopping to talk to clients on the phone. Need to give a listen all the way through before passing comment. Which track you got there, Brom-man?
And WoMB are an exciting band - really can't wait to see 'm live, I just have this gut feeling it'll be good. Looking forward to Bloc Party and System of a Down too, but WoMB deserve some special attention 'cos they're such a nice bunch of people.
Respect. Over & Out.

I've heard Mars Volta. I didnt like it, but I dont judge them.
Me and my friends cant get drunk, so we drink too much coke and sit upside down and draw faces on each other's foreheads.

i think that getting hopped up on too much soda and drawing on someone's forehead is a wonderful way to pass the time. people dont do it often enough.
i'm convinced thered be no more war if we all did that.
hm
i may have just solved the problem of achieving world peace. or wait, no, seffie did ... yeah, credit where credit is due eh ?

Rebekah: Hmm, I don't know the name of the MV track either but it's about 12 mins long... I didn't get the chance to hear the album all way through today either - case of voltus interuptus.
Don't worry being drunk - at least you don't come out with the sh*t that I do LOL
Seffy: A buddy of mine passed out at my house one day, so I got the felt-tip pens out and drew on his face. He went home like that, walked down the street like it and everything LOL
I don't touch coke ;)
