"It's British Summer Time, F**kface"
So, there goes another weekend, another loooong weekend.
We were supposed to be celebrating the life of this bloke, apparently involved in some DIY accident or something, involving a nailgun and some 2 by 4, who was inadvertantly buried alive and awoke to push a giant egg out of a cavemouth so he could escape. Jeez, sounds a bit crazy to me...
Anyways, Friday was a little overcast and then sun and blue skies, and also involved a rather good custom car show (Wheels Day 2005)
Saturday involved a bit of biking and spring cleaning (basically re-organising all the crap in the attic) and Pizza with some friends, though not all at the same time.
Sunday was more biking and a trip to the Comedy Store, London to see Lee Simpson, Andy Smart, Richard Vranch, Jim Sweeney, Neil Mullarkey and Paul Merton (The Comedy Store Players) Andy Smart was late for the start of the show, due to the fact he forgot the clocks went forward, NOT for being at a party full of green smoke. So we were all primed, at the cue of a raised hand, to cry out "It's British Summertime, Fuckface!" Needless to say, once he arrived, this was shouted more than once. The show was hilarious.
There was also dinner at a Mexican restaurant (don't get the juice on your hands, you smell for days) and a trip on the tube involving a man with a giant stuffed Alsatian dog !!

Monday was no bikes but a visit to the "Three Horseshoes" in Bighton, Hampshire (near Alresford) that served a mean baguette, with salad and crisps (chips) and a side order of chips (fries) and a pint of Gale's Mild (dark, 3% ABV and tasting like Theakstons' "Old Peculiar" should before "they" spoilt it) and a trip up Butser Hill.

Dark is definitely the way to go when it comes to beer. Don't get me wrong, amber has its merits, but dark has that certain flavour.
Also, those bikes - are they of the pedal variety or the meth-lab variety?
It's also funny to think that we got an extra hour to sleep in. That's where your hour went, I think.

[-o-]: LOL, that's pedal variety as in mountain bike ;) I wouldn't know what a meth-amphetamine laboratory produced anyway?
But the dark beer - George Gale's Mild - I can't find anything about it on the web... only Festival Mild... but it was well nice - dark, almost sweet, very tasty proper real ale :D

Thanks for putting the food translations in. Now I am aware that I will be completely confused the day I visit England and am offered chips. I will have no clue what I'm agreeing to. Luckily, either scenario is not terrible. It's not like the difference between a liver pie and ice cream cake, for example. I had a friend that got confused about that while visiting Russia, and about died when he took his first bite of what he presumed was ice cream....

My blog is hosed. I can't even log in to make a post.
Its finally nice enough to get my bike out, I just have to get over to my bro's where its been stored all winter. Of course today (my day off) its raining :|
I sure could go for salad and chips right now though.

Rebekah: Hey, no pressure :)
Anyway, what IS cool? It's certainly not having another guy's nametag on your underwear... you haven't accidentally picked up Calvin Klein's frillies have you? No? Then you're cool :D
BeckyBumblefuck: Haha, cheers BBFK :) Yeah, I found that out on my first ever day in Canada - I was so hungry my dad ordered a bowl of chips and us Brits got what we call crisps instead LOL So yeah, I'm always aware of that one. Of course, ask for fries over here and you get fries but we have Fish & Chip shops too ;)
Anyway, if you come over to England just ask Lever, he'll see you OK :)
Liver Pie & Ice Cream though? Blurgh. I will have to enquire about that one... sounds a bit dangerous...
RahX: LOL - hosed, that's a new one, dude.
Get that bike sorted, man. If it's any consolation it turned grey and wet again here yesterday. The waterbarrel in the back garden went from empty to full overnight - that's about 40/80 gallons? I dunno - I'm not too sure about anything other than pints, and it's a damn lot of them ;) :D

I blame the news for the crap weather, they were warning of a hosepipe ban due to not enough water, so guess what, we get water.... lots of its.
and Fog... driving the A3 to Portsmouth today was "fun" (NOT)

It finally cleared up for a good 6 hours this afternoon. I have the weatherman a big "up yours" then hopped on my rollerblades and got good and sweaty. The bike can wait until my next day off I think.

Ah, the 3 Rs... Rebekah, Red and RahX...
Rebekah: LOL - TFFT. It'd be just like being back at school again...
Red: Hey Red, LOL, yeah my boss told me they said about a hosepipe ban... and look 40 galloms rolls off my garage roof overnight...
I don't envy you having to drive down the A3 though... incosiderate asshole drivers are one thing, but fog too... and then every bugger leaves their fog lights on afterwards...
Need more sun over Farnborough this year so the barby can get dusted off :D
RahX: LOL, good for you dude, though I never quite mastered blades or skates. You got any off-road biking trails near where you are or do you go on road or both?

Cool is this:
Not smiling in photos.
Being a bar-crawling sleazy person with cool hair and cool eyes.
Love of the OC.
Seth Cohen in general.
And Carl Barat wears calvin Klein's!!!! and he is still cool after 2 years.

...anyway, Carl Brat wears pants with another mans name in them... I'm not gonna speculate but that's just not right... a bit like buying second-hand Y-fronts from the charity shop... Ya just don't do it ;) :p

Wow, another 3 Horseshoes in the same area!? when I started reading your description I said to myself, I know that pub, it's a Gales pub.. and it was, but on checking the map the Three Horshoes I used to go to was at East Worldham near Alton.
Gales beer is triffic!
Years ao I was visiting a customer who said that lunch could be the pub next to the Gles brewery or The Harvester, before I could open my mouth the pillok that was with me said "Oh The Harvester Please" ARGHHHH

Brom-man: I think I drove through East Worldham on Sunday, and there was a micro-brewery passed on the way to the Queen Elizabeth Country Park... so yes, a good area for beer :D
The Gales Mild was SO nice, only 3%, a good "one for the road" with a great lunch (Toasted brown baguette stuffed with bacon and stilton, and a huge side salad) but I cannot find any online evidence of its existance... weird no?
A friend wanted to go to a Harvester the other night, the answer was a resolute NO. When will these people learn, Brom-man?

Speaking of "british summer time" you wont believe what happened with me on the cold sunday morning
My mate arranged a trip for the four of us to go blackpool, 2 came on time and me and another slept in cos we had no idea of the time change. Stupid time.
So the four of us were outside at 8am on the sunday to find out we had missed the train by an hour. If only you could see the look on our faces - you lucky you didnt :-)
Then again its only blackpoooooooool
