So... what's been happening?
Well, it's been busy - leading a busy life is one thing but having so much going on that blogging duties are neglected... that sucks.
So... what's been happening... in the land of forever blue skies?
Tuesday: First off was the dreaded MOT - our Ministry Of Transport road worthiness test - the car failed, as I suspected it would, and the estimate for repair came to exactly what I thought... Lots ($$$$.$$) But that's OK; if it was an ordinary car that would be reflected in an ordinary bill... (looks can be deceptive and I like that - 200BHP 4x4 - you should see the faces on the GTi boys
)
The car's booked in for just over a week's time, and if I can be clever and get some parts at trade, the authorised service garage will still fit them for me
However, Twyford in Berkshire is no fun to visit in the rain - there's really not a lot to do there...
Tuesday-Friday: Work has been interesting for once this year, so that was a fulfilling week, especially trying to cram 5 days work into 4 days. And then running a business on the side...
...not easy when your ISP decides to "upgrade" their service and it kills off all the PHP in the site. I logged support calls with them and they just said everything was OK. It wasn't OK at all, the stupid, inconsiderate bastards.
After nearly 2 days down time I sussed that all the full http paths, which worked fine until they meddled with their servers, now needed to be relative and not absolute... thanks Iomart, you were a great help NOT (makes you wonder just WHO the tech guy really is sometimes)
Saturday: After last week's mission to clear the attic of all junk, I was overcome, as often happens, with the overriding impulse to find a particular item... this was my old copy of the book "Karate-Do" by Tatsuo Suzuki. I couldn't find it... anywhere... maybe I lent it to a friend some years back... I couldn't be sure.
So I checked on Amazon for a replacement copy... £229.68... shome mishtake shurely... a typo maybe?... sod that...
And so I ordered another book on Kata and guess what?
Once I've ordered it and it's on it's way... I find my old copy of Karate-Do. Typical. LOL
Sunday: Well, it's not really Sunday to me right now, still more like Saturday night... I have to go "up north" today to go see my Uncle who's just started having chemotherapy.
Lance Armstrong beat cancer to win the Tour de France six times. His book is about more than just winning bike races, but a battle to save and create life. This year could be the record-breaking seventh year...
I hope Lance Armstrong gets this 7th victory, and yet; still smaller battles need to be won at home... the yellow band is not a fashion accessory, it has far deeper meaning... not just for international sports stars but for the "little people" too, and they sure know that, at the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Be happy and healthy my friends and I look forward to being with you again by about Wednesday.
Peace.

Well my week is set!
Joking aside, I really hate looking for items like that. I tend to obsess over "where the &%!#$" i put something until I find it. Usually its after I give up, just happen to come across it.
Its the little things that frustrate me the most :D

Aw. Tell your car I'm sorry it failed. That was strange - I'm watching Hollyoaks and they just said MOT as I read it.
Anyway:
The Tour de france goes past my cousin's house in france some years. How great is that? (I'd like to shout out to the cuz, even though its not like he'll read this - he's my only cousin and he's the coolest)

RahX: LOL, right on there dude... it's those other stupid things like keys, wallet, phone, cash, camera, batteries, charger, car... OK, maybe not the car but you're right about all theose little things...
But 2+ hours searching and not find a book? Remind me never to get a job in a library ;)
TMRB: Cheers Seffy, I'll go say sorry in a minute :) It'll be all OK in a week's time though :D
And as for that spooky MOT... that's synchronicity for ya. V cool :) BTW what was the TV show with the line "expect the unexpected"?
Bonjour a votre cousin, tres bien :D I gotta go watch le Tour this year, tell him to wear something silly so I can recognise him ;)

...Bonjour, comment allez-vous???
Je vais très bien, merci. Parles français, Seffy or lever?! - I've just got a comment from France, maybe around yr age libertinean ;)
Hey, did ya checked amazon.com man?
I found Karate master's used book "Karate-Do" for $199.95, so expensive it is!!! Check the URL:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0399510990/qid%3D1112528292/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/103-8714612-0724661
BTW, do you know Okinawan Karateka who publishing his book having ths same title as Suzuki's? It costs lower and maybe nice:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0870114638/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_1/103-8714612-0724661?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance
...amazon is useful and easier to find something difficult 2 available in my neighborhood. Yea I'm an amazonean, had ever ordered CDs, books in English sites - mostly from UK :) - once tried US but it reached later and timeline was over when it posted 2 my home.
Hahaha, I prefer Europe. Au revoir!

I hope I don't have to put the car I'm currently driving thru' an MOT, cos the steering wheel's on the wrong side, it must have a tiny tank as it cost me less than a tenner to fill it up and the radio won't tune to the BBC, I just get some guys who are experts in reading all the small print at the bottom of an advert very very quickly in an American accent. And I miss my clutch pedal!!!

Shina: Ah, bonjour Shina. Oui, un peu.
Hey, that Suzuki book is half the price of the UK one. Thanks Shina :) Now that I found my book I now know that it's priceless... kerr-ching ($$$)
I may just pick up a copy of Gichin Funakoshi's book too seeing as he was the father of modern day karate. Thanks again, Shina :D
I must admit, I did buy "Joe Strummer and the Legend of The Clash" from the states - mainly because I wanted to pass on some good karma for having been recommended to me in the first place :)
Brom-man: Ah, Monsieur Brom - yeah funny those cars - must admit to never having driven LHD car, and as for automatic... too easy, too lazy, there's far more satisfaction in pushing a manual transmission to its limits :D
Rebekah: That wouldn't be the famous Steve would it?
So you miss your sketchy memory? I don't recall ever having one, or a car called Steve
Jay: LOL, busy's the word, Jay - amidst trying to pay for expensive things there's all this family stuff to deal with, but hey, it's all good :D

Rebekah: Yes, Steve the Subaru would sound good, but I see the car as more of a strong female type... or not. Maybe still neuter as it is now...
...and a dog named Fred... I'll stick with my cats. Only if I get hitched to a woman who has or wants a dog or we have kids that want a dog... then we'll call the bitch Fred haha :)
