25 years - A Tribute
R.I.P. Ian Curtis (15 July 1956-18 May 1980)

What more can I say? *hat off & bows*
"Atmosphere" - Joy Division

What more can I say? *hat off & bows*
"Atmosphere" - Joy Division
Walk in silence,
Don’t walk away, in silence.
See the danger,
Always danger,
Endless talking,
Life rebuilding,
Don’t walk away.
Walk in silence,
Don’t turn away, in silence.
Your confusion,
My illusion,
Worn like a mask of self-hate,
Confronts and then dies.
Don’t walk away.
People like you find it easy,
Naked to see,
Walking on air.
Hunting by the rivers,
Through the streets,
Every corner abandoned too soon,
Set down with due care.
Don’t walk away in silence,
Don’t walk away.

STEALIN MY THING!
sorry. It's just i have a little ode on my blog too.
anyway. I painted my nails black and wrote RIP IC on my knuckles. We're not allowed nail varnish in my school (crap isnt it) but I did it anyway. I kind of love ian curtis. he was the awesome-est person. And i dont care if i'm only 13, but joy division were the coolest thing.

btw lever, I DID see stalking pete doherty yesterday - and max CARLISH :) was a complete arse. But a sad arse. I couldnt feel sorry for him though, cos he was just so embarrasing. I mean, thinking they had a 'relationship' just cos he got waved at when pete was, excuse the expression, probably 'out of his tree' anyway....

RahX: Nice one dude :)
LOL Yeah, I don't think my phone's configured to send messages like that... it kept erroring. Need to get that sorted... could be fun :)
BBFK: Yeah, "The star that shines twice as bright burns half as long." as Dr. Tyrell said in BladeRunner... Ian Curtis was a genius and an inspiration, such a shame that he's not here today though :|
He did leave us plenty of good stuff though, moody but pure talent :)
TMRB: LOL, did not :p
Yeah, I popped over to pay my respects, Sef. BTW your blog not set to GMT? ;)
Black nails - cool. And yeah, Joy Division were, and still are amazing, when the moods allow :)
Ah, Max Carlish! Nice one, Sef. Did you see the sideways glances he got from most people? I mean, apart form the plentiful "f*ck off you c**t" expletives, there was a lot of negative periphery activity too. Everyone thought he was an idiot. I don't know if this is the last we'll hear of either MC or PD...?

cheers to Ian!!!!
Warsaw is my favorite song!! and if you don't mind I am gonna post the lyrics here!!!
"Warsaw"
3, 5, 0, 1, 2, 5, Go!
I was there in the back stage,
When first light came around.
I grew up like a changeling,
To win the first time around.
I can see all the weakness.
I can pick all the faults.
Well I concede all the faith tests,
Just to stick in your throats.
31G, 31G, 31G
I hung around in your soundtrack,
To mirror all that you've done,
To find the right side of reason,
To kill the three lies for one,
I can see all the cold facts.
I can see through your eyes.
All this talk made no contact.
No matter how hard we tried.
31G, 31G, 31G
I can still hear the footsteps.
I can see only walls.
I slid into your man-traps,
With no hearing at all.
I just see contradiction,
Had to give up the fight,
Just to live in the past tense,
To make believe you were right.
31G, 31G, 31G
3, 5, 0, 1, 2, 5

BM: "Warsaw" by Warsaw is a most excellent choice BM, and no I don't mind at all - post lyrics, friend :)
Second to that track has gotta be "No Love Lost" - as a kid I thought that instrumental intro was just great!!!
Rebekah: What would his status have been today had he lived? Revered and loved as much as Morrissey or Robert Smith? Hmmm, dunno, but people still love him though :) And don't forget there's an Anton Corbijn/Deborah Curtis movie sometime...

I've always related most with The Eternal.

tescosuicide: Cheers dude, gotta pay my respects to the man. If New Order had simply been Joy Division minus Ian Curtis then the legend may not have been...
But the Eternal is another most excellent track dude - I remember having it on a shiny gold chrome Maxell cassette and played it to death on my walkman and hifi... memories man, good times :)

Great post and great comments. "BM, The Necessary Movement" - Ideal For Living EP is my favourite Joy Division production, all the songs on it are fantastic - rough, ready and full of energy. After that stuff like Day Of The Lords, New Dawn Fades, She's Lost Control - but not Atmosphere. Never liked that one, too ballady and too "normal".
