Hmmm, maybe I'll have to use the able-to-handle-an-adapter method for sceening future boy prospects. Ya know: *sugar-sweet* "C'mere, honey, could you do this for me? It doesn't seem to be working right...*eye flutter* Well, OK...that'll be step *one* in the screening process...I have *slightly* higher standards than just being able to handle an adapter. ;)
"Subway has it's own radio station" man that is news to me!!
The reason they have the exit down a set of stairs on the other side is probably because they want us sucker consumers to buy more stuff on the way out, kinda like trolleyology where they have milk on one side and bread right at the other.
They use every trick they can, and it works too.
On the way out they played a jingle? Whats all that about, wait where you in JJB, that might explain why the guy in the shop didnt know his ins and outs
TMRB: Subway as in the franchise that does lunch? Sub rolls and stuff?
RahX: Too right dude. The guy's been there for ages but he still can't get it right! You'd think people would know better... sheesh.
BBFK: Could be worth a try... never judge a man 'til you've walked a mile in his moccasins... or given him your phone to charge LOL Or whatever BBFK has in mind... :)
Kalina: Gotcha girl :)
Piniyini: Cool stuff man - there's a great book on that from 1964 - "The hidden persuaders" by Packard Vance. Oldie but goodie and still totally true today though uor lifestle advertising is more subtle... and false LOL
Rebekah: Keyboard still buggered huh? LOL Yeah Hello oto... ;)
they play christmas songs when its christmas, and the other times they just play 'classics' like old things. Old bad things that we hoped had gone forever.
hahaha. its one of the reasons to go to subway. for the music and the cheesy american voice over.
TMRB: Hahaha is that a "cheesy American" voiceover or a "cheesy voicover" that happens to be American? LOL Have you ever listened to any Frank Zappa? (RIP) He totally parodied US commercialism and was a real master at it... stuff like Joe's Garage Act 1 are great albums for that sorta stuff but he even did that way back in the early '70s (Fillmore East & all that)
LOL@"i think me and lever are on at the same time!"... sounds like we're in a band or something, sis ;)
Hahahahaha. the voiceover was all of those things.
My uncle was friends with Frank Zappa, along with the beatles and mick jagger and some cool famouses. If you ever see a book called 'zappa' or anything by Barry Miles, 'in the sixties' is quite groovay, buy it because he's my uncle ^-^ look him up. it might be dandy.
Wow, how cool is that? I'm well impressed, cheers for the info Sef :) I just found Frank Zappa: A Biography by Barry Miles on Amazon; that's definitely going on my wishlist... Sef you are a star :)
Lever, there is a phrase in use in my household directed to the man "it would be easy if it had hair around it" Best used when fumbling at getting the key in the lock.
Shops are easy to get into and hard to get out of for a reason (Pinyini sed - and I like the word "trolleyology" btw) you buy more if you have to wander around trying to get out. Either that or you get so pissed off you never go there again...
The thylacine shirt you admired on my blog is available in adult sizes for sure. Not sure how crash hot their website is though. They will probly mail order to UK too...thanks for the comment which I only saw today.
Lever is guilty on both accounts - of impulse buying AND never wanting to go back... LOL
NWs, you're welcome, and likewise nice to have another happy face round here too :)
TMRB: Thankyou missy :)
Oh, and don't you think Serj Tankian from System of a Down is quite a bit like Frank Zappa? Run that one past Barry Miles... I'm sure he'd agree the guy looks alike and has similar vocal/ singing/ songwriting talents :)

Hahahaha! Thats great. I look at a motorola phone and I can tell you what charger it needs without having to plug it in. I'm that good.
Well, for the ones here in the US anyway.
I'm quite efficient with my adaptor :)
