Vapour Trails

Vapour TrailsPassing jets and Vapour Trails. Shiny steel tubes full of travellers, suited and booted or destined for more leisurely pursuits?
  • Where've they come from?
  • Where are they going?
  • What are they reading?
  • What are they thinking?
  • Can they see us?
  • What's for lunch?
  • What's that smell?
  • Is the movie any good?
  • Do they have a good seat?
  • Where next?
  • Who Knows?

Nice to see your blue skies, Lever. ;)

*laughing* (And sly how you snuck "What's that smell?" into the mix...)

BBFK: Yeah, great aren't they? That was actually Thursday night but it's beautiful here now all the same.

LOL "What's that smell" refers to the time I sat a seat away from the toilets on a 737 to Tenerife. It was awful. It smelt. Lots. Mind you everyone on the plane could have smelt like they'd just cooked up fajitas or something... ;)

Red: LOL now wouldn't that be ironic? And it's barbie weather too, let's just hope it stays like this tomorrow huh? And for the weekend and hopefully all through next week too.

Why was it always sunnier when we were kids?

Rebekah: LOL thanx girl... especially the smell on my shoe... talking of which I had to jetwash my bike the other night when I found something nasty on it... yuk!

Vapour Trails? So who's that by?

Reminds me of the other day I was driving and noticed 3 jets that had turned a 180 making large arcs in the sky.

How many times have you been on a plane, Lever? Only twice for me, to go to Alberta and back. It's funny, you always find something to blog about, I need to learn that trick.

It is my impression that everyone in Britain somehow lives beside the airport.

  • At Mon May 30, 11:18:00 AM, Blogger shina said…

I live near the airport too, Jay.
But it's mainly for national lines.
(Others are bound for Hawaii, Beijing, Seoul etc.)

Travel on plane is fun. But the turbulence and long flight hours really gets on my nerves! I fell asleep on the way to Copenhagen and missed the meal!!!

    Enjoy travelling everyone, BTW :D

I was traveling from Mongolia to London via Moscow - I was not suited and booted or destined for more leisurely pursuits - I just wanted to get home, have a shower and drink some real ale!

I also missed you guys, now I'm back - what's been happening?

1: LHR (Never yet flown from Gatport Airwick)
2: USA (bout time I went somewhere different)
    3: "Q" (always passes a good hour)
4: Depends how many glasses of wine I've had. (Half way through the flight I'm usually feeling rather jolly and smug as I'm being paid for the whole experience)
    5: Depends on the clouds!
6: Always a choice of Beef, Chicken or Pasta.
7: The selfish cretins that insist on spraying themselves with "nice" things which circulate around the aircon giving allergy sufferers something to remember the flight by.
8: Sometimes. Flying twice in one month can limit your enjoyment.
    9: Oh yes!
    10: Guess!
    11: Me

another thing that pisses me off, "gate hangers" who insist on crowding around the gate just before boarding time and then fill the overhead lockers with bulky "carry-on" they should have checked in but are too dammned lazy to do so.

Rebekah: :p Back at ya LOL

    Yeah, that Sef's potty alright...

RahX: Photos, dude, photos :D Always good to see :) Planes, sky, love it all.

DemonQueen: Hey DemonQueen, LTNS :) Yeah, planes are like that... but work on it and you'll be flying soon I'm sure :)

Kalina: Good question, Kalina. Erm... Canada, Egypt, Tenerife, Ireland x3, all with return flights of course ;) and a couple of goes in a DH Chipmunk which I actually flew :)

You should travel girl, get on a plane and go somewhere. I'm busting for another flight soon, it's been 3/4 years now :(

Alberta's sort of BC way is that right?

And as for blogging about anything I know you can do it :)

[-0-] : LOL, certainly does. Infat when the Farnborough Airshow was on last July, the Red Arrows flew directly over my house... they were so low and close I could smell the jet fuel and the smell of metal from the heat of the exhaust... quite awesome :)

Plus there's a helicopter flight path too...

Jay: You could be right there Jay. Heathrow is 30 mins drive away, Farnborough (small civil airport) is 5 mins, then there's Bournemouth, Southampton, and not to mention Lasham and Odiham...

Yeah, we're probably all quite lucky :)

Shinano: Ooh, turbulence... I know what you mean Shinano :) On the way to Tenerife the plane hit some bad air and shook for a good half an hour. Every other flight I'd ever been on was excellent until that one LOL

    Falling asleep is good.

Missing out on food is not.

Davinian: Hey Big D, welcome back :) Sounds like 4 weeks was enough for you aye? Busting for an ale huh? I can imagine. Hope all went well dude :)

Happening? Erm, well, where do you want me to start from? ;)

Brom-man: LOL, ah cool Brom-man :) I like the comment on "nice" things... you should take a can of "fart spray" onboard next-time :D

I experienced "gate hangers" from Dublin last time and I know what you mean. I'd been pitched at my seat for hours, right next to the gate when all the free-loaders came up and fought eachother for space. Take some stink bombs next time, throw a couple of those at their feet... LOL

EatYourCarrots: Oh you lucky bugger! If I don't catch you before you go, have a wicked time alright? :D You'll have to send us all back a blog-card :D
