Catching some rays...

...in the Mohegan Sun...

But wait... it's New England... it's new raining... fucking typical... It has now rained for se7en days straight... I hear Old England has been warm and sunny...

Just to re-cap, it was Kat E and J's wedding last Saturday... sweet and succint - and for the first time ever no bloody hymns - hoo-fucking-ray, or should that be hallelujah (funny word that) So, if hymns were that good they'd be climbing the charts, right? Somebody would have covered and remixed "Oh come all ye faithful" a dozen times by now, let alone all those other instantly forgetable "tunes" like...

OK, I'll stop now.

...and in the darkest depths of the Connecticut countryside, some place called Canterbury with no cathedral, just miles and miles of forested roads to a rather pleasant wedding in the presence of mother nature... bliss...

And then, after the wedding reception, where Ergo & "Gappy" got to know eachother's inside leg measurements, we were catapaulted into the Mohegan Sun casino, run by the state's Mohegan tribe... what an awesome place... over 6000 slot machines in that complex and they all hum a constant tune, together forever generating a cacophony of white noise, like a cosy cocoon of warmth and ecstatic oblivion, comforting the soul with the drone of circuitry, inducing that primeval feeling of ultimate calm and harmony...

...now that you're sitting comfortably you can give us all your money...

No gambling for me, I like sure-fire winners...

And like a zombie I trudged the malls of the massive venue until 2:30 in the Monday morning... I didn't even get drunk... I haven't been drunk since I got here... I miss that feeling...

We came back to Norwalk from Norwich... and they pronounce both those places with the same N-O-R... what would Alan Partridge have to say about that?

Oh and BBFK sure knows how to get a guy to vacate a hotel room quick... just play some Erasure... AH, NO, anything but THAT!!!

Its not been that good here in the 'boro, pretty much normal Oct, apart from today which was very nice. Blue skies, 20degC and everyone in summer clothes.

Guess its the summer to autumn/fall changeover a'happenin now. Roll on next spring.

Hmm, I think it was late this year wasn't it, so hopefully that'll make winter late too!

Red: Well there was "oh l'amor" which was tolerated for 3 minutes... then some other awful random stuff by Bell & Clarke which was so sacharin I had to leave the room LOL

Ah well, it will beinteresting to be back in the UK :( Roll on next spring indeed, I really can't wait to see the blossoms and the buds on the trees again... *sighs*

I wish we had hibernate settings like PCs... if only someone could just switch me back on when winter was over :)

Rebekah: What? What's RIGHT with erasure? Come on, I'm a guy - liking Erasure is not in my genes OK? I have a lot of respect for the pop talents of Vince Clarke, harking back to his Depeche Mode and Yazoo days... but this was the worst venture ever... I can't dance to that!!

OK, you're booked :) Noe has a real cute dress lined up for you... you wanna be a witch? LOL

    LMAO.
BTW, Gappy was so named for his lack of front teeth. I'm sure he's a nice man, but that doesn't mean ya want him venturing up your thigh with a garder...*shakes head* Ergo is a star...

And Rebekah dahhling...I can't wait for our adventures...I'm sure it'll be silly and very blog-worthy...

    *grin*

I always liked going to casinos, just not to gamble but stare at all the blinkies :D

OH that movie is Inuyasha Movie 3, I'd only recommend it to fans of the show. Not really "must see" stuff.

MY BBFK: LOL sing along now... "Gappy, Gappy, Gappy the gap-toothed cousin Rick"...

RahX: Blinkies LOL good name... they were entrancing... the sound was so comforting... ethereal... everyone's gotta go there sometime, amazing...

Oh, OK, cheers for the headsup. Still gonna watch "Steamboy" at some stage though - looks wicked :)

    Rebekah: LOL OK cool :)

Ah, witches are cool (not the pointy hat and broomstick crap)... everyone's a witch to some extent, it just got made a negative thing and stuck with us ever since. Real witches rock!!

Jay: Well, I've had a few beers here and there but never as much as I normally drink - plus I've been driving a lot (so can't drink) and then some of the beer has been crap (Michelob - fucking yuck!!) There's a bottle of red, a white and a couple of Sam Adams' in the house now... I gotta be able to fall over sometime in the US before I go home...
