Wire & Ice

Chimera Bridge, Minley Manor, Hampshire.

Went biking today. It was cold. Before the ultraviolet rays could thaw out the late frost and melt the frozen layers atop the muddy puddles, I managed to grab this shot of ice crystals on barbed wire, the mist still thick over the forest, the midday sun straining to shine...

    Red: If you go from the Crown & Cushion, Meade Hall toward the A30, it's down a track on the left. It's closed off to cars but you can walk, run or bike to it. It's a military bridge in the middle of the woods... it goes over nothing and goes from nowhere to nowhere in particular. It's quite bizarre LOL

    oh yeah and regarding your last comment on the last entry: me and my brother have come up with this life philosophy called "IDoWhatIWant!" usually said after doing something random or being given a directive and then doing the opposite

    it's quite liberating

    best to make the mistakes while i can still get away with it

    my weather has been lovely! this is two weeks now it's been actual winter and cold and i LOVE LOVE LOVE it

    no more 90 degree hotness in the winter time

    til like next week anyway

    Oooh, you Texans and your hot weather... I could do with some stifling heat, shirt off and sunshine... we're getting snow this week, apparently, maybe I should send you some LOL

    ooh if i could get everyone i know who lives in a snowy region to send me some of their spare snow i would be the happiest girl alive

    so far operation "send rebekah snow" is not working but not for lack of trying on my part

    :: sigh :: break the vicious cycle lever- send me your snow!

    oh and my shirt is staying on in the hot weather just so you know no need to go scaring people

    Lever: Anyway cool picture. Really didn't think that was possible, only because I grew up 15 years surrounded by barb wire and never saw that happen. I don't know, are you photoshopping. Perhaps it is something percular to barbwire in UK.

    SfMD: LOL Nope, no photoshopping here, just a pure unadulterated photo, though I did leave the flash on, so there's a slightly surreal light on the barbed wire. And it was very cold, even at midday, the sun was trying so hard to shine.

    It's quite cool what a little Fuji FinePix A350 snapping camera can do, my S7000 has been busted since May and I haven't had the inclination to get it fixed yet... how lazy is Lever?

    And while we're about it I could do with some snow too. Even in winter we get bugger all here. My aim in life is to live somewhere where it snows enough that people hate it. Lever that is a top photo - I've not commented on it before now 'cos i didn't want to leave an inane two word comment, but I've enjoyed these last two pics enormously...

    So, Mummy/Crit, you're thinking of moving to Chicago, then, aye? I *have* lived in places where snow becomes hateful, although I still have a thing for it myself. It's just not nice when it's all slushy and brown.
    And Rebekah, darlin', sorry...I do have a dull, realistic streak, sometimes. ;)
