3 Sugars please...
OK. Apologies for not posting, it's been kinda busy with that Christmas thing, New Year and the multiple family disorder... But a Belated Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everybody :) Hopefully everyone with a mobile phone got our messages :D
BBFK touched down last Wednesday and this is what we've done...
*big sigh*
Ah well, at least the sugar should last a while now ;)
And if there were a word of the day it would be Historic
BBFK touched down last Wednesday and this is what we've done...
- Visited Windsor Castle
Hit the Tumbledown Dick for a Jam tribute band- Dined @ my local curry house the Cove Tandoori
- Walked the Hawley Woods and had lunch by the open fire in the Mead Hall, an old French barn/pub. (Serving Adnam's Broadside)
- Shopped in Farnborough (yawn) and Guildford (yay)
- Drove to Devon to stay at my dad's cottage
- Lunched in 14th Century pubs (The Ship, Sidmouth - fine pint of Otter Best)
- More lunch in an 18th Century quayside pub (Royal Standard, Lyme Regis - Nice pint of Palmers Copper Ale) and down to the beach again
- Seeing historic Winchester & a guided tour of Winchester Cathedral (original foundations date back to 1079)
*big sigh*
Ah well, at least the sugar should last a while now ;)
And if there were a word of the day it would be Historic

Wow, you guys sure do know how to cram a whole lot of goodness into your time together. My last vacation consisted of: day one: 13 bahama mamas on the beach; day 2-9: no one knows....

Jay: Hi Jay, Happy New Year :) Yeah, I didn't want BBFK to go home to questions of "What did you do then?" and her to reply "Oh, we just dossed on the couch and watched TV" I mean, you can do that anytime right? Gotta get some history & culture into a trip abroad right?
Bahama Mamas huh? LOL Sounds good, though if I had any Bahama Mamas on the beach I reckon I'd get a slap off Becky ;) LOL
Maybe you could have a compo to see who can make up the best days 2-9 for you...?

LMAO.
What?
You still had some sugar left?
I thought you were skimping on my tea at the end...*tsk*...I bet they were wimpy teaspoonfuls the last two days....
Oh, and to help complete your list: I experienced bangers and mash, clotted cream and various puddings, but I still don't know what spotted dick is.
Looks like another trip is in order...
(P.S. I'm so glad you posted...I miss our lovely community...I'll get myself in gear tomorrow...)

Rebekah: You're welcome to do so, anytime spring, summer or autumn (fall) would do goood 'cos winter is just so crap here IMHO. Mind you, log fires and cosy pubs just get cosier at this time of year but you can't beat the beer garden in the summer ;)
My BBFK: Yes, I still had sugar left, even after the bucket-sized (JCB bucket) spoonfuls you commandeered ;)
And you tried our beers too, sweetheart, well impressive... You've had Fuller's London Pride (last May), Badger's Golden Glory and that nutty Sharp's beer from the Kingfisher in Colyton... :)
So when you coming back then? ;)

My bass is named after a combination of the hot guy who was behind me in the music shop (his name was Zach) and everyone's favourite member of the Bravery. Oh no wait, that's Dirt.
Uhm....yes.
And yeah, Friday 13th, Test Icicles! spooky or whaters

I was just conversing about the Kingfisher and the Slug and Lettuce earlier today. It's beyond me to catalogue the beer names though....I'll have to rely on your sharp beer memory, dear. ;)
I do remember that banana beer and ginger wine, though...mmmm...I'm looking forward to consuming more...

13th... Test Icicles are playing? you going? Cool :D Be weird OK? LOL
My BBFK: Coo-L :D Kingfisher aint so old methinks, maybe 19th C ? Slug & Lettuce was cool but too trend to be really hip... oldies are the best right? ;)
Banana Beer, Ginger Wine and you left your Framboise in the fridge girl... ho hum, maybe mine belly will keep it safe for you... ;) LOL

Real Ale! All this talk of real ale is making me thirsty.
Pint of Blandford Fly anyone?
We bought some Chambord last Christmas and it was so sickly sweet, we didn't touch it again for six months...after which time it seemed to have mellowed nicely and became very quaffable...

Dr. Sky: Ah, Badger Beer, Excellent :) Even in North East Hampshire we've got a Badger Brewery pub - The DeHavilland Arms in Fleet. Next time your over this way, Dr. Sky, I'll take you out for a beer. On a hot summers day a bottle of their Golden Glory goes down a treat :)
Chambord huh? I'd not heard of that before, is it these people? Wow, they even do a Toblerone cocktail recipe... !!
