Call Centre
The batphone rings
Lever: "Hello?"
[Asian subcontinent voice]
Call centre guy:"Are you the owner of the business?"
Nice intro. Which school of charm did you attend, pray tell?
Lever: "Yes I am, what can I do for you?"
Call centre guy: "It's about the cost of your telephone calls..."
Lever: "Can I stop you right there please? I don't need to change my service, I'm very happy with what I've got already."
Call centre guy: "Ah yes, but the call costs..."
Lever: "You will not be able to beat my call costs, they are SO cheap."
The guy gets angry with me...
Call centre guy: "I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!"
Lever: "Well let's put it this way..."
[click]
He hangs up
Lever: "...if you had the common courtesy to just wait until I'd finished I'd tell you that my calls are a business expense and are paid for by a client so they're actually FREE. How's THAT for cheap you rude little bastard?"

Jay: LOL Well it's worth doing that again then :) Trouble is he didn't give me the chance to just say "hold on a second, I'll just go and get him..." and then leave the phone for an hour whilst I went for a...

In a similar vein... my mobile rang yesterday and they said "I'm calling from (network) and we want to know if you are a pay-as-you-go or contract user as we have some new offers". My reply... "if you were really from (network) you would know. I'm not interested in ..." and all I heard was the beep-beep-beep as they'd hung up.
And I'm registered with the TPS...

Red: LOL Cheeky bastards!
Do you remember when the multi-diallers used to be a real problem? They'd call X amount of numbers and speak with whoever picked up first. I used to pick up the phone and there was nobody there. It would happen about 6/7 times a day for about 5 days. The next time QuickFit Insurance, yes QUICKFIT INSURANCE, called up and said they'd been trying to get hold of my housemate for the last X amount of days I asked if it was their system that kept cutting me off as I answered because I was actually getting REALLY annoyed with it. I was so polite and yet the bitch cut me off!!!

Wow. When a call deteriorates that quickly you gotta figure the man must have had his wife walk out on him earlier or something. He was probably just reusing some of his lines from earlier that morning..."I don't believe you!!"
At least you weren't married to the guy. ;)
*squeeze* (cause I like to)

Rebekah: LMAO. Call centre huh? Good timing girl. I hear you speak English really well so that shouldn't be a problem right?
Hanging up on people? You have to get shouted at and have a bad day first before taking it out on other people ;) :p
Keeefer: LOL. Hey you, Happy New Year :) We thought you were MIA and were gonna send out a search party ;)
Yeah, Me So Angry! lol
My BBFK: LOL Totally. He definitely got out of bed on the wrong side that morning. You can imagine high pitched shouting and things flying 'round the kitchen at breakfast time! He was only taking it out on me 'cos he's under his wifey's thumb.
Are you squeezing me in public, dear?

I was just looking at your profile and saw that you like The Way of the Wyrd. Is it any good and do you like Sabbat?

Pseudo-anonymous Rebekah: Haha, so that was YOU!! :p Hope you get some nice people calling up a bit more often - the world needs more nice people :)
Brom: LMFAO Trust you, Brom LOL
Housse: Hey there, welcome aboard :)
OK, first - Sabbat. "History of a Time to Come" was one o' my fave thrash albums of the era, the most excellent lyrics of any band at the time, to my mind :) Still got the vinyl here waiting to be played but my turntable's bust!
And "The Way of Wyrd"... any good? Well, personally I liked it a lot, in fact I loved it, it means alot to me and it reflects a lot of how I view the world today... it's a book of us Brits before we were converted to christianity, but in the macrocosm of an Anglo Saxon sorceror and the scribe who is sent to "reccy" the isles. So it's an interesting snapshot and definitely worth a read, especially if you're into history & Sabbat :)
Also I'd lend you my copy, dude, but it's in a country far, far away... :)

Thanks, mate. I do actually have a copy of Dreamweaver on CD, after much bidding on ebay. I read a lot about that stuff back in the days of my compulsive reading of Metal Hammer, Kerrang et al and your reply brought that all back to me.
