A Moving Story
When you've lived somewhere for 7 years or more you become quite attached to the red bricks, the white-painted render, the low pitched roof and the gravel driveway where your cars sit on display to the oggling passers-by.
And yet, when the time comes, the two-bedroomed bungalow, with it's almost courtyard style back garden, hemmed in by brickwork & high hedges, becomes too small for even those desperate notions of expansion - why lose your small patch of lawn to expand your living quarters when, for only another ten grand, you can get another two rooms and another floor?
And that's just what happened. "Kept under one's hat" whilst the deal was sealed, there is now a cacophony of boxes to negotiate, less avoid for the last few weeks. Super Nintendo games and boxes of PC parts & data cables in the bathroom: bizarre! But they will take their place on the truck and find their way to a new home, with 40 year old wiring and 1964's kitchen, but it will be a nice project and a great home.
But why oh why do I need 3 bedrooms, I hear you ask, when just 1 and a studio have served me well all these years?
Farewell bungalow.
Hello House.
So if I am incommunicado for a few days, you'll know why ;)

Whenever I hear that someone is getting a house with more bedrooms, I always figure that there's a baby on the way or a grandma that needs to move in...are you pregnant? Is this your subtle way of telling me?? :0
;)

Congrats on the move, and good luck on getting all the data connections sorted quickly. Never mind the rest of the house, as long as you can get surround sound from the PC through the HiFi amp, and DVD player, and can surf the net at broadband speeds! Actually having food in the fridge, and curtains at the windows is unimportant :)
Are you going to a new neighbourhood?

The spare room's for the EOS baby, isn't it ... lol, good luck with the move writes the woman who has moved too many times.

Eek. Moving terrifies me. I'm supposed to be swapping bedrooms this week and have so far managed to find an endless supply of meaningless jobs to prevent this happening. Stay strong amid the disorder and confusion. Sounds like it'll be worth it.

oh god! lever is pregnant?! has he gotten a sonogram yet? is there an amniocentesis schedule? :D
moving adventures...i remember when i first finished school and all of my belonging that i cared to keep fit in the back of my parent's ford explorer. it has taken me forever but i'm back to that blissful state again after having moved interstate four times and across the atlantic twice. i have left a trail of paintings, sauté pans, kitchen knives among other things but i will have you know that never once did i leave a kitty behind. left a couple of upset females and such but never a fuzzy feline companion. ;D

Moving into a bigger house is always exciting. But then you have to get over the packing, unpacking business first. Good luck with everything.

Rebekah: LOL Well we got plenty of boxes still to shift... wanna help out? ;)
My BBFK: Darling YOU'd be the first to know if i was pregnant ;) :*
Red: Ah dude, that took SO long to get reconnected! Yeah, we're still in the same neighbourhood... the EXACT SAME neighbourhood LOL (two doors up) ;)
Wandering Woman: FUnnily enough there is a room here full of technology, just the cameras aren't all in here yet... last move for me for a while, that was stressy.
JvS: Despite the short distance of the move it was terribly chaotic indeed, and it was all put off until the day of the move! We're doing good, we'll blog soon :)
Rebekah: LMAO Now that's funny :D
Piniyini: Hey dude, long time no see :) Yeah, you should come and live in Farnborough it's got... er... um... OK we might not have much but you're right in the centre of the south of England here...
Restless Angel: Thanks Angel, it was a haslle and we needed a lot of luck :)
Mummy/Crit: Packrat LOL I like that term... I only packed on the day of the move !!!
Josephine: Thanks Josephine, we did OK.
RahX: LMAO That's right :) Now... which do I unpack first... Xbox, Playstation, SNES, Dreamcast, Saturn, MegaDrive... ???
Jay: LMFAO... now I wonder where that one got started? *goes off to find Rebekah*
Ergo: Thanks Ergo :)
Narthex: LOL :D
LMAO so true... I left behind a Jade tree and a wind chime but managed to bring my two cats along... no upset females left behind though... ;)
Brom: Funnily enough there was already a kettle at the new house! =)
And sadly there aint enough room for my great big Tannoy Mercury speakers on their stands :( I'll have to try plug something smaller into the Nad amp ;) :)
Tawcan: THanks dude. there's a ton of stuff to unpack...
Narthex: Close...
Wandering Woman: Ooops.... sorry... I'm here, just taking my time...
Rebekah: No fighting please ;)
OK, I'm up for chocolate :)
Brom: I'm here, I'm here...
Narthex: LMAO Fire away, I don't think I've ever heard any English jokes :)
Chrysanthemum: Cheers Mate :)

This isn't 'taking your time' this is failing in your obligations to your loyal audience.
Hmmm moving, let me think ... I moved the length and breadth of the South Island of New Zealand (4 moves, ummmm hmmmm about 14 houses - 16 years of marriage)
After the divorce, I moved to Turkey, then this Belgian found me and here I am, married and living in Belgium ... you missed my marriage, didn't you ... August 12th, see what I mean about obligations???)
Moving schmoving, come back to the blog world, you're missed :)
'There', she writes, dusting her hands, 'I think that's everything' :)
Sincerest regards
