English Castle Magic

Its very far away,
It takes about a half and a day to get there,
If we travel by my uh, dragon-fly
So we've been to Windsor Castle twice this year, had a nosey at King John's Castle at South Warnborough, near Odiham, even though it's a ruin and getting worse, stood under the keep at Guildford Castle, spent a sunny day at Rochester Castle, Kent, and just spent some time at the most excellent Arundel Castle, Sussex.

Arundel Castle

And that reminds me... there's an oil painting I did of Dunstanburgh Castle at my mum's that I haven't seen in years... I'll show that to Becky this weekend when we're in Henlow, Bedfordshire, for the beer festival at the Engineer's Arms.

Whoa, did you just say oil paintings AND beer festival in the same breath? Becky is one lucky lady! :)

Castles though, woah! Loving the castles.

It'd be a nightmare to heat a castle though. And you'd need a vacuum cleaner for each wing. And what kind of an insecure bighead would display themselves to the world by living in a castle.

And all this WITHOUT a beer festival. Wow.

Jemima: Oh yes, castles are definitely on the menu this year :D

Yeah, vacuuming the castle... jeez! Get this... Arundel castle was one of the first places in England to have electricity installed, back in the late 19th century for a whopping... 35 GRAND!!! Bighead but loaded ;)

Yeah, beer fest should have been in the castle...

My BBFK: Yes, you will be at a beer festival with one's drunken self... You can stay on the Badger and I'll just float around... ;)

    Yes, I forgot the oil...

And yes, I knew you were hawking the fuzzy-haired kid photos... ;) :p

So, in a word, YES :)

engineer's arms. One what is that? ANd if it's a name of a pub or town that is just hilarious. I have visions of all these engineers missing there arms. Well which I guess could be gross, but funny in a Reanimator sort of way.

PS those silos are on my blog

SfMD: You're very welcome :) Yeah, open up a pub, we'll be down to advise on the best beer to serve :D

S'OK, there's some server issues somewhere... if it's the castle that disappeared then it's an issue with flickr... ;)
