Farnborough Airshow

July 14th, 2008

It’s on!

Airbus A380, Farnborough Airshow 2008Update 20:22

I went through the small handful of photos I shot during my short lunchbreak and the best shot is of the Airbus A380 which, despite being the world’s biggest airliner, was a graceful plane.

I love Farnborough sometimes.

380 caused a massive rumble earlier at the office. Didn’t get to see it though :-(

Rederick: The Airbus is pretty graceful for such a big bird. Got some good shots of it too. The Typhoon was the nosiest of the lot and the F-16 caught us in the wake of its afterburner… Awsome! :)

Saw it today, and I saw the Typhoon yesterday, and heard it again today. Don’t have a window near me in the office! By the time you hear, its long gone out of sight.

Although strange how there are more smokers this week in the car park… many seem to just have coffee…! :-)

rederick: crikey, twice in one week my friend. And I forgot to say yesterday how good it was to see you pop by :)

Glad you caught a glimpse of the A380 and that noisy bastard Typhoon – it must have have been pointing its jet exhaust right at my window at one stage – I couldn’t see it for the trees but my eardrums were bleeding by the end of it and my workmate said his tinnitus was worse for it!

Hehe, I thought of “taking up smoking” this week and I’m glad I have… got some more shots ’round here somewhere… some display team and an old Vickers Vimy I think…

well, that association was laready there for me as farnborough and the air show featured prominently in a novel i read as a child about the beginnings of aviation.
