Oh the Green thing…

April 24th, 2007

…you mean the green thing I mentioned here?

Well, it’s one of these…

Racing Green Mini

So Becky’s got a new car. OK, not new, but new to her. 73,000 miles, British Racing Green Mini. It’s a bit of a bucket but it’s a bit of a laugh too. Personally I love it. And it made it all the way back from Scotland too, so that ain’t a bad run. All it needs now are sparkplugs, leads, points, fanbelt, an oil change and some TLC. Oh, and I need to take the twatty Max Power sticker off the back window too…

    Rebekah: :D

Great, isn’t it? It got a full service last night so it should be sweet for a while.

great car, great color, love it…
I have seen some of these in my neck of the woods and I decided awhile back, I must have a mini!

Nice car! One of the few that I can tell apart (others include Beetle, 2CV & the Batmobile).

It’s customary to make a photo quiz where participants actually have a chance in guessing what the object actually is.

How on God’s GREEN earth where we supposed to get that one?

    ;)

Annie Van Bergen: Well they’re a bit small, a little ‘tinny’ (you can hear your voice echo in them) and very basic but they’re great fun to drive, cheap to run and really easy to park too :)

Yeah, do it, get one :D

Bulbboy: Heh, you’re right there… all cars started looking the same back in the early ’90s… I once had a Beetle that was black with batman stickers on the door!

Sorry, ’bout that. I knew it would be a week before we picked up the Mini so I didn’t wanna make it *too* easy ;)

I love it!! Congrats to Becky! It really is a cute car. Stefan and I have been browsing vehicle for when we move to Puerto Rico. I want to get something I can run over stuff with (and maybe jump into a lake…) and not care about :D

Vicious Summer: I tell ya, it’s so cute my head nearly touches the roof and the gear knob sits behind the crook of my knee… Stefan should drive it, it’s such a laugh!

I know just the thing for blatting around Puerto Rico… you guys need a Mini Moke – same car, cooler style :)

i remember the first time i sat in the back of one of these. it was in a roundabout, a big one, in london. i looked out the window and stared aghast at the spinning wheel and tyre of a double decker bus less than a meter from my face.

i thought i was going to die! :D

It actually looks pretty good. I’m surprised it’s not green seeing how Scottish love green… wait or is that Irish?

Lol Max Power sticker? Ya that needs to be taken off if you don’t want to get harassed by teens.

Narthex: Man, I know exactly what you mean… it’s when the SUVs and trucks come thundering up in the rear view mirror that you wish you had your diapers & shades on LOL

Tawcan: Well, there’s green in one my clan’s tartans… but then it would be blue with a white X on it… or yellow with a red Lion… LOL

Yes, sticker has been removed with a razor blade and now NOBODY dares to race us :D

Jay: Well, you’re very welcome… word of warning though, it does have a tiniest oil leak… :o

when summer and i make it to your neighborhood, i’ll give it a spin around the block. i saw someone park on of these a few weeks ago, the spot wasn’t big enough to park so they pulled the nose in, got out of the car and picked up the back and pulled it over to the curb. it was a good move.

    enjoy the new ride!

Excellent. I thought I’d already commented about my wrongness in guessing, but perhaps not. I see there is no texture there at all. Good luck in the adventures of the Mini.
